Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil

Henrique “EDMX” Montanari is a Brazilian multimedia artist and animation director whose work explores the intersection of urban art and digital systems. Using spray cans as “pixels,” he creates murals, sculptures, and installations that translate digital logic into physical material. His practice investigates modular structures, repetition, and perception, creating hybrid visual systems that bridge analog gesture and technological thinking.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including presentations in Shanghai and at the Beijing International Art Biennale, where in 2025 he was the only Brazilian artist invited to participate. Montanari is also the only South American artist featured in the book Street Art in Times of Corona (2020), and has produced murals and installations for festivals and exhibitions in Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, India, Kosovo, the United States, and Brazil.

Parallel to his artistic practice, Montanari has over 20 years of experience in animation and technical direction. He completed a postgraduate program in 3D Animation at Seneca College in Toronto (2003–2004) and works primarily with Maya and Unreal Engine across film, games, and real-time production. Today, he integrates AI-driven workflows while continuing to expand his contemporary art practice, merging advanced technology with material experimentation.
